Ole Miss Rebels Game Notes

OIe Miss redshirt junior QB Matt Corral has yet to throw a single interception from a clean pocket. Corral (6'1/205) has done plenty of good things this season, still very much in the race for the Heisman Trophy. So far in 2021, Corral has completed 67.6% of his passes for 1,913 yards with 15 touchdowns and just one interception. There are plenty of metrics that have come out in which Corral is toward the top of the rankings. One area that he's stood out in, as highlighted by Pro Football Focus, is how precise he's been from a clean pocket. In 182 total dropbacks from a clean pocket, Corral has zero interceptions. That's the most in college football without an interception.

Auburn Tigers Game Notes

Auburn sophomore QB Bo Nix completed just 18-of-35 passes for 217 yards with an interception in a 34-10 loss on Saturday to Georgia. After a solid effort against LSU, Nix (6'3/214) was not up for the task against a much tougher defense in the Bulldogs. To be fair to Nix, there won't be a tougher defensive test all year, and yes, that includes Alabama. Still, the accuracy just wasn't there, and the Georgia front gave him trouble all afternoon. Nix is a frustrating quarterback to watch, as the flashes of brilliance often are followed by fits of borderline incompetence. Auburn falls to 4-2, and they will take on Arkansas next Saturday.

Ole Miss vs. Auburn Week 9 Betting Prediction

The Rebels are just 1-6-1 against the spread in their last eight games versus the Tigers and are 1-4-1 against the number in their last six games at Auburn. Ole Miss has also failed to cover in four of its last five conference games and is 3-10 ATS in its last 13 games after allowing more than 200 yards rushing in its previous game. On the other side, the Tigers are 6-1 against the spread in their last seven games as a favorite and are 4-1 ATS in their last five games as a home favorite.
