Syracuse goes to OT in two striaght
The Orange put an end to their two-game losing streak last weekend with a 40-37 OT win over North Carolina at home. Syracuse is now 5-2 on the season, 2-2 in the ACC, 4-2-1 against the spread and 4-3 with the over. The Orange have failed to cover in their last two games, both OT contests.
Syracuse is putting up some good offensive numbers this year, averaging 42.6 points and 474.6 yards per game. Their rushing attack is putting up over 200 yards per contest. Quarterback Eric Dungey has thrown for 1,433 yards and 10 touchdowns while also rushing for 477 yards and eight scores. Moe Neal has added 473 rushing yards while Jamal Custis has caught 32 passes for 592 yards and four touchdowns. Defensively, Syracuse is allowing 26.9 points and 416.4 yards per game.
N.C. State suffers first loss
N.C. State was dominated by Clemson on the road last week, falling 41-7 to the Tigers. N.C. State is now 5-1 on the season, 2-1 in the ACC, 3-3 against the spread and 4-2 with the under. The Wolfpack have failed to cover the spread in two straight.
The Wolfpack are putting up 28.7 points and 449.7 yards per game on offense this season, including over 300 passing yards per game. Ryan Finley has thrown for 1,777 yards and 10 touchdowns with five interceptions. Kelvin Harmon is his leading receiver with 35 catches for 547 yards and two scores. Reggie Gallaspy II is the leading rusher with eight touchdowns and 383 yards. Defensively, N.C. State is allowing just 20.8 points and 363 yards per game.
College Football Betting Trends
Syracuse is 2-5 ATS in their last seven conference games and 1-4 ATS in their last five following a loss.
N.C. State is 7-3-1 against the spread in their last 11 road games, but 1-4-1 ATS in their last six conference games.
Though it got a scare at home against UNC last week, the Orange have been pretty good at home this year. The Carrier Dome isn’t an easy place to play when Syracuse is motivated. N.C. State has had just two road games this season, one of which was the debacle at Clemson last week. I don’t trust the Wolfpack to win and cover as a road favorite against a winning team right now.
