San Diego State is coming off a 27-3 loss to Fresno State last week for its second straight loss. The Aztecs are 6-2 on the season and 2-2 in the Mountain West. While Hawaii averaging 28.9 points and 480.1 yards per game, the defense is giving up 35.6 points and 478.4 yards per contest. The Hawaii offense is led by Diocemy Saint Juste, who has run for 1,094 yards and six touchdowns. Quarterback Dru Brown has thrown for 1,816 yards and 13 touchdowns with seven interceptions. John Ursua is the leading receiver with 47 catches for 667 yards and five touchdowns. However, Ursua is out for the rest of the season after tearing his ACL.
San Diego State hasn’t been terribly impressive on offense this year, but the Aztecs should be able to handle this road trip. Hawaii is just 1-6 against the spread in its last seven games after a bye and 6-20-1 ATS in their last 27 conference games. The Aztecs have also covered in 11 of their last 15 road games. Look for the SDSU defense to contain Hawaii while grinding out touchdowns on the ground.
