Florida vs. Georgia Pick
Should bettors expect a defensive struggle between Florida and Georgia when the SEC rivals clash at 3:30PM ET in Jacksonville on Saturday?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Gators are now 7.5-point favorites versus the Bulldogs after opening as a 6.5-point favorite. The total, meanwhile, opened at 43.5 and that’s where it currently sits at the majority of both online and Vegas sports books.

Florida will be fresh coming off its bye and is riding a modest two-game winning streak after beating Vanderbilt 13-6 three weeks ago and Missouri 40-14 before its off week. The Gators are now 5-1 on the season with their lone loss coming at Tennessee when they blew a double-digit lead at halftime. Florida hasn’t been consistent at the betting window, however, covering just twice in its seven games in 2016.
The Bulldogs can’t seem to right the ship in Kirby Smart’s first season as head coach. After three straight wins to open their 2016 season, they were routed 45-14 by Ole Miss, lost a heartbreaker in the closing seconds to Tennessee, beat South Carolina 28-14 for their only win in October, and then lost 17-16 to Vanderbilt two weeks ago. Georgia has covered the spread twice in its last three games, but is 3-4 ATS on the year.

OUR PICK: The Gators still boast one of the best defenses in the nation, ranking second in total yards allowed (252.5), second in passing yards allowed (132.8), 23rd in rushing yards allowed (119.7), and second in points allowed (12.0). While UGA quarterback Jacob Eason is improving in his first college season, he’ll struggle against the vaunted Florida defense, which should lead to a low-scoring affair at EverBank Stadium this weekend.
