First Road Win?
It seemingly doesn’t matter who plays quarterback for No. 5
Cincinnati, the Bearcats still find a way to win.
On Saturday, the Bearcats could be without starting quarterback Tony Pike when they host
Louisville at 3:30PM ET from Nippert Stadium.
Bet Louisville at Cincinnati
Pike landed awkwardly on his non-throwing arm last week against South Florida and missed the second half of the Bearcats 34-17 win over the Bulls. Pike had surgery on the arm this week and is a game-time decision for Saturday. Pike has thrown for 1,633 yards and 15 touchdowns on the year to lead
Cincinnati, but if he is unable to play, Zach Collaros will get the start. Collarios rushed for 132 yards and two touchdowns while passing for 72 yards in the second half of last week’s win. Collaros had a 75-yard touchdown run early in the third quarter to lock up the victory. Collaros will look to throw to Mardy Gilyard whenever possible. Gilyard has 43 receptions for 592 yards and seven touchdowns. On defense, the Bearcats have been ball hawks, intercepting 13 passes as a team while holding opponents to 14.3 points and 324.7 yards per-game. A 6-0 record has
Cincinnati in the top five, and a 4-2 record against the spread makes the Bearcats a strong play each week.
Louisville is 2-4 on the season and 2-3 against the spread. The Cardinals have not won on the road this season under third-year coach Steve Kragthorpe, who has not had an above .500 record with Louisville. The Cardinals have had to split time between quarterbacks as Justin Burke is dealing with an injured sternum. Burke has 649 yards passing and three touchdowns with four interceptions while his replacement, Adam Froman has 709 yards passing with two touchdowns and three interceptions. Victor Anderson has rushed for 424 yards and five scores while Scott Long has caught 28 passes for 468 yards and a touchdown.
Louisville ranks last in the Big East in points scored at 21.8 per-game while the Cardinals rank second to last in scoring defense, giving up 27.8 points per-contest.
Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL have made
Cincinnati 18-point home favorites over
Louisville on Saturday night. The over/under total for this game has been established at 53.5.
