Oklahoma vs. Texas Tech Prediction
Will Texas Tech hang with Oklahoma when the two schools play in a shootout tonight at 8:00PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Sooners are now 14-point home favorites versus the Red Raiders after opening as 13.5-point road faves. As for the total, the number currently sits at 85.5 points after opening at 84 earlier this week.
The Sooners have cashed in eight of their last 10 conference games and are 5-2 against the number in their last seven road games. They're also 5-1 at the betting window in their last six games in October but have failed to cover in five of their last seven games overall. They're also just 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games after accumulating more than 450 total yards in their previous game.
The Red Raiders have covered in five of their last six conference games and are 7-3 against the number in their last 10 games overall. That said, they're winless at the betting window at 0-6 in their last six games versus an opponent that owns a winning record. They're also winless at 0-4 against the number in their last four home games versus a team with a winning road record.
OUR PREDICTION: Oklahoma will once again be without running back Samaje Perine, who injured his hamstring in last week's win over Kansas State. Perine has 43 career rushing touchdowns, which is the most among Power 5 running backs in the last three seasons. That said, Joe Mixon is more than capable of carrying the load for the Sooners and is 6.0 yards per carry average ranks fourth in the Big 12. This game is personal for Baker Mayfield, who is making his first start at Texas Tech since transferring from the school. Look for him to light up Tech's horrendous defense and for OU to keep the Red Raiders in check after WVU held Kliff Kingsbury's offense to just 17 points a week ago.
