TCU enters play with a 4-2 record after barely beating Kansas 24-23 two weeks as a 28.5-point favorite. Kenny Hill struggled in the game, completing 17-of-32 passes for 206 yards with one touchdown and three interceptions, but Kyle Hicks rushed 18 times for 104 yards and a score in the victory. The Horned Frogs have failed to cover the spread in five of their six games this season.
West Virginia is off to a great start and is now 5-0 after beating Texas Tech 48-17 as a 3-point road favorite last Saturday in Lubbock. Skyler Howard completed 21-of-31 pass attempts for 318 yards and a touchdown while also rushing 12 times for 89 yards and two additional scores in the victory. The Mountaineers had a great day on the ground as a team, rushing 46 times for a whopping 332 yards on Tech’s defense. Despite the cover, however, WVU is just 2-3 against the spread this season.

OUR PICK: The total is set too high in this one, especially with the under cashing in four of the Horned Frogs’ last five road games and in 12 of the Mountaineers’ last 15 home games. The under is also 20-7 in West Virginia’s last 27 games, is 9-2 in the team’s last 11 games in October, and is 4-1 in the Mountaineers’ last five games when playing a team with a winning record. The overall numbers aren’t impressive, but WVU’s defense is holding teams to just 19.4 points per game, which ranks 25th in the nation.
