Baylor stays unbeaten
The Baylor Bears kept their unbeaten season going last week with a 33-30 OT win over Texas Tech at home. The Bears are 6-0 on the season, 3-0 in the Big 12, 3-3 against the spread and 3-3 with the over/under total.
Baylor has been pretty soundly balanced on offense and defense. The offense is putting up 37.8 points and 475.5 yards per game while the defense is giving up 17.8 points and 340.2 yards per contest. Quarterback Charlie Brewer has thrown for 1,554 yards and 11 touchdowns this year to lead the offense while John Lovett is the leading rusher with 389 yards and three touchdowns. Denzel Mims is the team’s leading receiver with 32 catches for 503 yards and five touchdowns.
Cowboys coming off a bye
Oklahoma State had a bye following its 45-35 loss at Texas Tech two weeks ago. The Cowboys have lost two of their last three games to drop to 4-2 on the season. They are 1-2 in the Big 12, 5-1 against the spread and 3-3 with the over/under total.
Like usual, Oklahoma State has one of the top offenses in the nation. The Cowboys are averaging 39.8 points and 528.3 yards per game this year while allowing 27.5 points and 415 per game on defense. Chuba Hubbard is leading the offense with 1,094 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns while Spencer Sanders has thrown for 1,333 yards and 10 touchdowns, but also has eight interceptions. Sanders has also rushed for 426 yards and two scores. Tylan Wallace is the team’s leading receiver with 39 catches for 703 yards and seven touchdowns.
College Football Betting Trends
Baylor
The Bears have hit the under in six of their last seven conference games and in four of their last five road games.
Oklahoma State
The Cowboys are 9-2 with the over in their last 11 games following a failed cover and 5-1 with the over in their last six games following a bye week.
Prediction:
These two have split the over/under in their last six meetings, but they have hit the over in their last two encounters in Oklahoma. The Cowboys are going to be primed to unleash after losing at Tech two weeks ago. Baylor has a pretty good defense, but the Bears haven’t faced an offense of his caliber, especially on the road. Oklahoma State just has too much of a ground attack and the ability to beat you through the air. At home, the Cowboys are going to score. They are also likely to give up points, so Baylor should see the offense get a boost in scoring as well.
College Football Week 8 Prediction: Baylor/Oklahoma State Over 68.5
