Two Pac-12 teams coming off losses in Week 7 will meet in Week 8 on Saturday when the Washington Huskies host the Colorado Buffaloes. Will the matchup turn into a defensive struggle between these conference rivals?

Public Betting Trends

According to oddsmakers from online sports book, the Huskies are 15.5-point favorites to beat the Buffaloes. The total, meanwhile, sits at 57 points. As of this writing, 63% of the public betting tickets wagered on this matchup are on the Crimson Tide.

Colorado Buffaloes

Colorado sophomore WR Laviska Shenault (toe) is day-to-day. Shenault (6'2/220) injured his toe in Saturday's loss to USC. That he's considered day-to-day should be considered an encouraging sign that he might not have to miss any game action upcoming. Colorado will need Shenault at full speed or close to it on Saturday, as the Buffs will be aiming for a finishing blow against a once-promising Washington squad currently sitting on two losses.

Washington Huskies

Washington HC Chris Petersen told reporters at his press conference on Monday that senior RB Myles Gaskin (shoulder) is "week-to-week." Gaskin was in-and-out of the lineup for the Huskies in the overtime loss to Oregon on Saturday, and at one point his shoulder pads were seen underneath the bench while he was to the medical facility near the end of the second half. He returned, but not for long. The star tailback's backup -- Salvon Ahmed -- is also week-to-week -- so this could be a big blow to the Washington running game. We should have more on his status for Saturday's game against Colorado later in the week.

Betting Trends

The under is 9-2 in the Buffaloes’ last 11 games versus a team with a winning record.

The under is 13-4 in the Huskies’ last 17 home games versus a team with a winning road record.

The under is 4-0 in the Buffaloes’ last four road games, is 6-1 in their last seven games overall, and is 7-3 in their last 10 games played in the month of October. On the other side, the under has cashed in six of the Huskies’ last seven games overall, is 11-5-1 in their last 17 conference games and 9-3 in their last 12 games coming off a loss. Shenault is Colorado’s best weapon so with him banged-up, I don’t see the Buffs moving the ball well enough against this Washington defense to help contribute to the over.
