Florida looks for marquee win

Florida is coming off a 38-0 win over Towson last week to stay unbeaten and improve to 5-0 on the season. The Gators are 2-0 in the SEC, 2-3 against the spread and 4-1 with the under thus far.

The Gators are one of the best defensive teams in the nation, allowing just 8.8 points and 281.2 yards per game. Offensively, Florida is putting up 34 points and 429.6 yards per game. Feleipe Franks was leading the offense early in the year, but suffered a season-ending ankle injury. Kyle Trask has thrown for 647yards and five touchdowns in his place. Lamical Perine has rushed for 197 yards and three scores to lead the ground game while Van Jefferson has caught 18 passes for 248 yards and a touchdown. Jonathan Greenard is leading the defense with 20 tackles, four sacks and an interception.

Auburn playing like a contender

Auburn may have the best collection of wins through the 2019 season. The Tigers are off to a 5-0 start following a 56-23 win at home over Mississippi State last weekend. Auburn is 2-0 in the SEC, 5-0 against the spread and 3-2 with the over.

The Tigers are giving up just 17.2 points and 320.2 yards per game on defense this season while the offense is putting up 38 points and 454.4 yards per game. Freshman QB Bo Nix has thrown or 980 yards and seven touchdowns this year to lead the team. He also has rushed for 173 yards and two scores. JaTarvious Whitlow has rushed for a team-high 463 yards and seven scores, while Seth Williams has caught 17 passes for 289 yards and four touchdowns.

College Football Betting Trends

The Gators are just 1-4 against the spread in their last five conference games and 2-6 ATS in their last eight home games against a team with a winning road record.

The Tigers have covered in six straight games overall and in five of their last seven against a winning team.

These two haven’t met since 2011. Auburn has won three straight against Florida while covering the spread in five straight against the Gators. Auburn is very battle-tested, so going to Florida shouldn’t be a big problem. This Auburn defense has held up to much stronger offenses. The key will be for the Tigers to move the ball on a solid Florida defense. Auburn hasn’t faced a defense quite like theirs yet. As long as the Tigers avoid costly turnovers, they can come away with a win and cover here.
