Florida State slowly improving
The Seminoles have lost a pair of ACC games already, but are coming off back-to-back wins over Northern Illinois and Louisville. FSU is now 3-2 overall, 1-2 in the ACC, 1-4 against the spread and 3-2 with the over.
FSU is putting up 22.2 points and 372.8 yards per game on offense this season. Their run game has been lacking, averaging just 97.4 yards per contest. Deondre Francois has thrown for 1,377 yards and nine touchdowns while Cam Akers is the leading rusher with 316 yards and a touchdown. Defensively, FSU is allowing 24.6 points and 385.4 yards per game. Their pass defense is giving up 284.4 yards per game.
Miami rolling along
The Hurricanes have won four straight since losing their season opener at LSU, including a 47-10 win over North Carolina last week. Miami is now 4-1 overall, 1-0 in the ACC, 3-2 against the spread and 4-1 with the over.
Miami’s defense has been very strong this year, allowing just 16.8 points and 244.8 yards per game. Their pass defense is allowing only 138.8 yards per game. Offensively, Miami is putting up 44.2 points and 430.2 yards per game. Travis Homer and DeeJay Dallas have combined for 702 rushing yards and three touchdowns to lead the offense. N’Kosi Perry has emerged as the QB for Miami, throwing for 442 yards and seven touchdowns in limited action.
College Football Betting Trends
Florida State
FSU is 1-4-2 against the spread in its last seven road games and 0-9-2 ATS in its last 11 ACC contests.
Miami
Miami is 1-7 ATS in its last eight games in October and 2-6 ATS in its last eight conference games.
Prediction:
Both teams had a tough opening game, but Miami has definitely bounced back more than Florida State. The Seminoles are still struggling, but have found ways to win football games. Miami has dominated since the loss to LSU. The Hurricanes have great speed on defense and they should give FSU a lot of problems on offense. FSU will not likely be able to run the ball and Francois will have it all on him. The Miami offense faces a respectable run defense for Florida State, but I think the Hurricanes can win that battle.
College Football Prediction: Miami -13
