Texas vs. OK State Prediction
Can Texas pull off the small upset today in Stillwater when they visit Oklahoma State at 12:00PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Cowboys are 2.5-point favorites versus the Longhorns after opening as a 3-point favorite. As for the total, the number currently sits at 70.5 after opening as high as 71.5 at some books.
The Longhorns are just 1-5 against the spread in their last six road games and are 3-10 at the betting window in their last 13 games after scoring more than 40 points in their previous contest. They're 3-8 against the number in their last 11 games after allowing more than 450 total yards in their previous game as well.
The Cowboys are just 2-6 against the spread in their last eight games overall after failing to cover against Central Michigan and Baylor in two of their last three games. With that failed cover in Waco last weekend, Oklahoma State is also now 0-4 at the betting window in its last four conference games.
OUR PREDICTION: Oklahoma State had an emotional and controversial loss to Central Michigan, and wild back-and-forth thriller against Pittsburgh that had a lightning delay in the fourth quarter, and then a hard-fought defeat last Saturday at Baylor. That's a lot to endure in three weeks. Meanwhile, Texas is coming off a bye where Charlie Strong and Co. had an opportunity to work on some of the defensive issues that has plagued the team in the early going. The road team is a perfect 9-0 against the spread in the last nine meetings between these two teams.
