Utah vs. Cal Pick
Is the over a safe bet when Utah and Cal square off at 6:00PM ET on Saturday evening?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Golden Bears are 2.5-point home favorites versus the Utes while the over/under currently sits at 65 points. Cal opened as a 1-point favorite before the line was bet up a point and a half, while the total opened at 67 before being bet down two full points.
UTAH: The Utes have won four straight to start the 2016 season and are 2-2 against the spread after beating USC 31-27 as a 2.5-point home favorite last Friday night. Quarterback Troy Williams completed 21-of-34 passes for 270 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions in the victory while receiver Tim Patrick caught six passes for 100 yards and a touchdown.
CAL: The Golden Bears dropped to 2-2 on the year and 2-2 against the spread with a 51-41 loss at Arizona State as a 3.5-point underdog last Saturday night. Davis Webb completed 32-of-56 passes for 478 yards with five touchdowns but it wasn't enough, as Cal's defense was shredded by ASU's offense. Chad Hansen and Demetris Robertson and huge games for the Bears, with Hansen turning 10 catches into 110 yards and a touchdown and Robertson hauling in four passes for 103 yards and two scores.
OUR PICK: The over should be a safe bet on Saturday evening after cashing in all six of the Utes' last six road games and going 7-1 in Utah's last eight games coming off a win. The over is also 6-0 in the Golden Bears' last six games, is 4-0 in their last four games following a failed cover and 6-0 in their last six games after accumulating more than 280 yards passing in their previous game.
