Bulldogs roll past Kentucky

Mississippi State is coming off a 28-13 win at home over Kentucky last weekend to move to 3-1 on the season. The Bulldogs are 1-0 in the SEC, 2-2 against the spread and 3-1 with the over.

The Bulldogs have been pretty steady on defense this year, allowing just 21.8 points and 357.3 yards per game. Offensively, Mississippi State is putting up 32 points and 414 yards per game. Tommy Stevens didn’t play against Kentucky due to a shoulder injury, but the QB is expected to go this week. He has thrown for 441 yards and five touchdowns this year. The team is being led by running back Kylin Hill, who has rushed for 551 yards and five touchdowns. Osirus Mitchell has caught 17 passes for 244 yards and three scores.

Tigers hold off A&M

Auburn had one of the top wins of last weekend, beating Texas A&M on the road, 28-20. The Tigers are 2-0 in the SEC, 4-0 overall, 4-0 against the spread and 2-2 with the over/under total.

The Tigers have been one of the best defenses in the country this year, allowing just 15.8 points and 316.8 yards per game. Offensively, Auburn is averaging 33.5 points and 423.5 yards per contest. Running back JaTarvious Whitlow leads a strong backfield with 408 rushing yards and four touchdowns. QB Bo Nix has thrown for 645 yards and five scores while also rushing for 117 yards and a touchdown. Eli Stove is the leading receiver with 17 catches for 150 yards and two touchdowns. Jeremiah Dinson is leading the defense with 30 tackles, a sack and an interception.

College Football Betting Trends

Mississippi State

The Bulldogs are 7-2 with the under in their last nine road games and 9-4 with the under in their last 13 games on grass.

Auburn

The Tigers are 11-5 with the under in their last 16 home games and 7-2 with the under in their last nine home games against a team with a winning road record.

Prediction:

The under has been popular between these two teams, as they have hit it in six of their last seven meetings. I could see it happening again on Saturday. Neither offense is terribly explosive, especially against a good defense. Mississippi State is going to have a hard time moving the ball against Auburn, while the Tigers are going to hit some speed bumps with the Bulldogs as well. Auburn has been very tame on offense because their defense has been so strong. Expect more of that on Saturday.
