Florida State vs. South Florida Prediction
Will Florida State rebound from its ugly loss to Louisville last Saturday when it visits South Florida at Noon ET today?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Seminoles are 4-point road favorites versus the Bulls after opening as a 6-point favorite. As for the total, the number opened at 61 and has been bet up to 63.5 at most sports books.
The Seminoles have been a good bet following a loss, covering in five of their last six games coming off defeat. They're also 8-1-2 against the spread in their last 11 games after allowing more than 40 points in their previous game and despite their loss last week at Louisville, they're 6-2 against the number in their last eight games overall.
The Bulls have been a good bet, period. They're 12-3-1 against the spread in their last 16 games overall, are 7-1-1 against the number in their last nine home games, and are 7-1 ATS in their last eight games when playing in the month of September. They're also 4-1 at the betting window in their last five non-conference games and are 5-1 against the spread in their last six games following an ATS win.
OUR PREDICTION: Look for the Seminoles to rebound from their ugly loss to the Cardinals. Florida State is well-coached under Jimbo Fisher and will show some maturity in bouncing back this week. The Seminoles are taking on a Bulls team that is 83rd in the nation in rushing yards allowed at 161.0, so look for Dalvin Cook to get loose a couple of times in the USF secondary. After rushing for just 54 yards on 16 carries (3.4 YPC) last week at Louisville, it's time for the Heisman winner to put together a big game and lead this FSU team back from the doldrums.
