Arkansas vs. Texas A&M Prediction

College Football Week 4 Predictions: Arkansas vs. Texas A&M 9/24/16

Will Arkansas pull off the upset or at least cover the spread when it takes on Texas A&M at AT&T Stadium at 9:00PM ET tonight?

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Aggies are 6.5-point favorites versus the Razorbacks for tonight's game after opening as a 6-point favorite earlier this week. As for the total, the number opened at 50.5 and has been bet down to 49.5.

Arkansas has covered in 20 of its last 28 games overall and is 6-1 against the spread in its last seven conference games. The Razorbacks are also 5-1 at the betting window in their last six games coming off a win, are 4-1 against the number in their last five games versus a team with a winning record and are 5-2 ATS in their last seven games following an ATS win in their previous game.

The Aggies, meanwhile, are a perfect 4-0 against the spread in their last four games in September and are 4-1 ATS in their last five games after accumulating more than 200 yards rushing in their previous game. That said, they've failed to cover in five of their last seven conference games and are 5-12 ATS in their last 17 neutral site contests.

OUR PREDICTION: This is a revenge spot for Arkansas after Texas A&M beat the Razorbacks 28-21 in overtime last season in Arlington. In fact, the Aggies have taken four straight in this series, so the Razorbacks will be hyper focused to get the monkey off their backs tonight. First-year starter Austin Allen has been solid under center and is coming off a career-high 241 yards and a pair of touchdowns against Texas State last week. Arkansas ranks just 70th in the nation in rushing yards per game (170.7), but that running game still has a ton of potential. A&M is much improved defensively, but this one should go down to the wire.
