Nevada is off to an 0-3 start with losses to Northwestern, Toledo and Idaho State. The Wolf Pack are 1-2 against the spread, covering in their lone road game this year. Nevada is struggling on offense so far in 2017, averaging just 24 points and 383.3 yards per game. Leading rusher Jaxson Kincaide is dealing with a head injury that has him doubtful to play this evening. He has 245 yards on 42 carries. Kaymen Cureton is getting the start at quarterback. He is replacing Ty Gangi, who had thrown for 476 yards and four touchdowns. Cureton has thrown for 205 yards and three touchdowns in his time on the field this year. Defensively, Nevada is allowing 32.7 points and 439 yards per game this season, including 284.3 passing yards per game.

Washington State comes into today’s game with a 3-0 record with wins over Montana State, Boise State and Oregon State. The Cougars are just 1-2 against the spread, covering in last week’s 52-23 win over Oregon State. Washington State is once again led by its offense that is averaging 43.3 points per game. The pass game is the story as the unit averages 408.3 yards through the air. Luke Falk has thrown for 900 yards and nine touchdowns to lead the team while three different receivers have over 200 yards. This season, the Washington State defense is also playing quite well, allowing just 22.3 points and 299.3 yards per game. The Cougars have been especially good against the pass, allowing only 154.7 yards per game.

Nevada comes in with a lot of questions, as their leading rusher is doubtful to play and the Wolf Pack will be starting a new quarterback. To play against Washington State, you need plenty of offense and that is what Nevada will be lacking. Washington State won’t be lacking in that and the Cougars’ improving defense shouldn’t have trouble stopping this makeshift offense for Nevada.
