Texas Tech vs. Oklahoma State Total Pick
The Texas Tech Red Raiders and Oklahoma State Cowboys will meet at 7:00 p.m. ET Saturday night in what is promising to be a classic Big 12 shootout. But that doesn’t mean the two teams will combine to score enough points to hit the over.
Game Snapshot

Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetNow.eu, the Cowboys are 14-point favorites to beat the Red Raiders. The total, meanwhile, sits at 77.5 points. As of this writing, 56% of the public betting tickets wagered on this matchup are on the Cowboys.
Texas Tech Red Raiders
Texas Tech freshman QB Alan Bowman was named the Walter Camp National Player of the Week. This was a no-brainer since the freshman threw for 605 yards and five touchdowns on his way to a 63-49 victory over Houston. Bowman averaged 10.25 YPA and completed 72.9 percent of his 59 pass attempts. The Red Raiders offensive scheme allows their quarterbacks to put up crazy numbers if the quarterback has some skills, and Bowman clearly does. There will be plenty of offense to go around next week against Oklahoma State.
Oklahoma State Cowboys
Oklahoma State freshman running back LD Brown is hopeful to play on Saturday against Texas Tech. Brown (5’9/193) was not able to go against Boise State due to an ankle injury he suffered in the win over South Alabama. In the opener, the freshman running back showed promise by running for 110 yards, and his only carry against the Jaguars the week after was a 14-yard scamper. Justice Hill is the bell-cow, but Brown is a very nice change-of-pace back for the Cowboys. He could have a big day against the not-so-great Red Raiders’ defense.
Betting Trends
Texas Tech
The over is 4-0 in the Red Raiders’ last four games overall but the under is 5-1 in their last six conference games.
Oklahoma State
The over is 7-2 in the Cowboys’ last nine games and 19-7 in their last 26 conference games.
Prediction
This is a lot of points for most teams but not for the Red Raiders and Cowboys. The over is 5-1 in the last six meetings between these two teams and 4-1 in the last five meetings in Stillwater. If you’re betting the total, the over is the only play because you know both of these teams can put points on the board. Oklahoma State’s defense is likely to come up with a few more stops than Texas Tech but I still see these two teams posting 30-plus points apiece and OK State is likely to get into the 40s.
College Football Prediction: Texas Tech/Oklahoma State over 77.5
