USC vs. Stanford Pick
Will USC and Stanford play to a shootout at 8:00PM ET on Saturday night in Pac-12 play?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Cardinal is an 8-point home favorite versus the Trojans while the over/under currently sits at 53 points for Saturday night's game. Stanford had opened as a 6.5-point favorite before the number was bet up to 8, while the total hasn't moved off the original number.
USC: Redshirt junior Max Browne completed 23-of-30 passes for 182 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in the Trojans' 45-7 win over Utah State last Saturday. His backup, Sam Darnold, also threw a pair of touchdown passes in limited action and could start to see more time under center if Browne falters. USC is now 1-1 on the year and 1-1 against the spread, with a loss and a failed cover against Alabama as a 13.5-point underdog and a win and a cover as a 15.5-point favorite versus the Aggies.
STANFORD: The Cardinal has played just one game to date, a 26-13 win as a 12-point favorite over Kansas State in the opening weekend of the season. On the injury front for Stanford, David Shaw indicated that there is a 90% chance that redshirt sophomore Bryce Love plays against USC on Saturday while junior defensive lineman Harrison Phillips (knee) is doubtful.
OUR PICK: The over is 15-6 in the last 21 meetings between these two teams and has cashed in all four of the Cardinal's last four games coming off a win. The over is also 4-1 in the Trojans' last five games after allowing less than 20 points in their previous game and after getting their offense back on track last week, USC should move the ball against what could be a depleted Stanford defensive front.
