Notre Dame Fighting Irish Game Notes
Notre Dame safety Kyle Hamilton gives high praise to new QB Jack Coan. Hamilton said Coan reminded him of last year’s Heisman candidate and first round draft pick Mac Jones in their playmaking ability. Coan transferred to Notre Dame after Graham Mertz seized the starting job in Wisconsin. Hamilton did play against Mac Jones in last year’s Rose Bowl, which Alabama won 31-14. Jones threw for four touchdowns in that game. It’s extremely high praise for Coan, and will be quite the comparison to live up to for the transfer QB. Preseason talk out of camp has Notre Dame quite excited about what Coan brings to the program.
Florida State Seminoles Game Notes
Florida State redshirt senior CB Brandon Moore has left the program, the school announced. Moore (6’0/181), who joined the Florida State program as a grad transfer from UCF, has not been with the team since early in fall camp. On Wednesday, it was made official that the redshirt senior has left the program. Moore was still recovering from a serious knee injury that ended his 2019 season prematurely, and kept him sidelined for the entire 2020 campaign.
Notre Dame vs. Florida State Betting Prediction
The Fighting Irish are 16-2 in their last 18 games straight up and have covered the spread in seven of their last eight games on the road. They’ve also won the last two meetings against the Seminoles (covering once), while Florida State is just 3-9 against the spread and has failed to cover in its last four season openers.
