Colorado State is coming off a 7-6 record in 2016, which included a 2-3 mark in non-conference games. The Rams were 10-3 against the spread overall and 3-2 ATS in non-conference contests. Colorado State ranked 30th in the nation last season in total offense, putting up 462.5 yards per game. Nick Stevens is back to lead the unit after throwing for 1,936 yards and 19 touchdowns in a limited role last year. Also back is leading rusher Dalyn Dawkins (919 yards, 4 TD) and receiver Michael Gallup (76 rec., 1272 yards, 14 TD). Defensively, Colorado State allowed 419.3 yards per game last season and the Rams had one of the worst rushing defenses in the nation, allowing 214.1 yards per game on the ground.

Oregon State struggled to a 4-8 record in 2016 under second-year coach Gary Andersen. The Beavers were 1-2 in non-conference play while posting a 9-3 record against the spread overall and 2-1 mark ATS in their three non-conference games. The Beavers struggled offensively, ranking 105th in yards in 2016 by averaging just 366 yards per game. Defensively, they gave up 429.2 yards per contest. The offense had a respectable run game behind Ryan Nall, who had 951 yards and 13 touchdowns. He is back to lead the offense this year. Under center Jake Luton will lead the unit. He is a junior college transfer that won a fall competition. Luton did compete at Idaho in 2015, throwing for 383 yards with one TD and four interceptions in limited action.

Bet on Oregon State vs. Colorado State

Colorado State looks like the better team. The Rams return a lot of impressive talent on offense and is facing a team with a lot of question marks on both sides of the ball. The Rams could struggle with the Oregon State run game, but that won’t be enough to lift the Beavers to a cover. Colorado State is 14-4-1 against the spread in its last 19 non-conference games and 5-2 ATS in its last seven at home. Look for the Rams to keep this success going against a struggling Oregon State program.
