Alabama suspends Tyren Jones
TUSCALOOSA, AL (TheSpread) – Alabama suspended running back Tyren Jones indefinitely on Tuesday, clouding up an already cloudy depth chart for the Tide at the position.
Alabama coach Nick Saban announced that Jones had been suspended for conduct not to the standard of the Alabama football program. In his lone season with Alabama, Jones rushed for 224 yards and two touchdowns as a redshirt freshman, finishing fourth on the team. Jones was going to be in the mix to be part of the regular back cycle for Alabama next season, joining Derrick Henry.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Alabama has 17/2 odds to win the 2016 College Football Playoffs. Ohio State is the current favorite to repeat as champions, as the Buckeyes have 9/2 odds. TCU currently has 8/1 odds.

Alabama is coming off a 12-2 season where it went 7-1 in the SEC, claiming another conference championship. The Crimson Tide lost in the Sugar Bowl to Ohio State as part of the College Football Playoffs. Alabama lost T.J. Yeldon to the draft after the season concluded. Yeldon rushed for 979 yards and 11 scores. Henry was the team’s leading rusher with 990 yards and 11 touchdowns.
