Eagles slip past Golden Bears

Boston College earned a 64-60 victory in its last game December 21 over California in the Basketball Hall of Fame Al Attles Classic in San Francisco. The Eagles (8-5) outscored the Golden Bears 38-31 in the second half to secure the win. Jairus Hamilton paced Boston College with 18 points on 5-of-10 shooting including 2-of-4 from 3-point distance plus 6-of-8 at the free throw line. He also brought down eight rebounds. Julian Rishwan contributed 12 points, five boards and two assists off the bench. Jared Hamilton tallied 12 points and three caroms as a reserve. Derryck Thornton added 10 points and two rebounds.

Blue Devils blast Bears

Duke rolled to a 75-50 home win Saturday over Brown to improve to 11-1 overall and 6-1 at home. The Blue Devils outscored the Bears 40-21 in the second half to pull away. Vernon Carey Jr. paced Duke with 19 points on 8-of-13 shooting plus 3-of-5 at the free throw line. He also contributed seix rebounds and three assists. Alex O'Connell registered 14 points and four boards off the bench. Wendell Moore Jr. added 10 points, seven caroms, four steals and three assists as a reserve.

College Basketball Betting Trends

Boston College

The Eagles are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 road games. Boston College is 2-5 ATS in its last seven games as an underdog.

The Blue Devils are 12-5 ATS in their last 17 Tuesday games. Duke is 1-5 ATS in its last six home games.

Duke is one of the best teams in the nation on both sides of the ball, but this spread is also huge against a reasonably decent Boston College squad that has already won two ACC games. The Eagles have won four games in a row and has only lost one game by double digits this season. Boston College leans on its defense and I am betting on that side of the ball keeping it in the game long enough to stay within the number.
