Tigers unable to hang with Golden Eagles

Grambling lost by a score of 93-72 Tuesday night at Marquette to drop to 6-6 overall and 2-5 on the road. Kelton Edwards led the Tigers with 22 points off the bench on 6-of-17 shooting including 5-of-8 from 3-point distance plus 1-of-3 at the free throw line. He also brought down two rebounds. Ivy Smith Jr. contributed 14 points, five assists, four boards and two steals. The Tigers trailed 42-27 at halftime on their way to the defeat.

Flyers stunned by Buffaloes

Dayton lost by a 78-76 score in overtime against Colorado in the Chicago Legends Saturday night to drop to 9-2 on the season. The Buffaloes drilled a 3-pointer at the buzzer to send the Flyers to the loss. Jalen Crutcher paced Dayton with 19 points on 6-of-11 shooting including 2-of-5 from 3-point range plus 5-of-6 at the charity stripe. He also registered five rebounds and four assists. Obi Toppin contributed 17 points, seven boards, four dimes and two blocked shots. Rodney Chatman added 12 points, four caroms, four assists and two steals. The Flyers were outscored 34-30 in the second half and 10-8 in the extra session.

Prediction:

Dayton has faced two teams worse than Grambling thus far this season and those games ended as a 29-point home win over Charleston Southern plus a 31-point home victory against Houston Baptist. The Flyers also have a 27-point victory over a decent Virginia Tech squad and a 25-point victory versus mediocre Omaha. Needless to say, Dayton has the capabibility of dominating an opponent and is coming in salty after the loss last game. Marquette was the best team Grambling has faced and Dayton is a tier better. I'm taking the favorites to dominate in this spot.
