Jackrabbits set school records
South Dakota State set a school record for points in a game Wednesday night at home as it blasted Savannah State by a count of 139-72. The Jackrabbits (9-3) put it away very early and led 90-33 at halftime before letting up somewhat after the break. South Dakota State shot 53-of-87 in the winning effort plus 23-of-34 from 3-point range and 10-of-16 at the charity stripe. Mike Daum led SDSU with 37 points on 14-of-24 shooting including 4-of-5 from 3-point range to go with 17 rebounds, three assists and two blocked shots. Skyler Flatten poured in 29 points to go with two assists. David Jenkins had 28 points, three boards and two dimes. Tevin King added 10 points, 13 assists, nine rebounds and three steals.
Wolfpack holds off Grand Canyon
Nevada improved to 10-0 on the season Sunday as it downed Grand Canyon 74-66 in the Jerry Colangelo Classic. Jordan Caroline paced the Wolfpack with 22 points on 6-of-13 shooting to go with 14 rebounds. Jazz Johnson contributed 19 points and three assists off the bench. Caleb Martin tallied 13 points and 12 rebounds, while his brother Cody Martin had 12 points plus four assists and two rebounds. Nevada outscored Grand Canyon 40-34 in the second half to put it away.
College Basketball Betting Trends
South Dakota State
The Jackrabbits are 13-3 ATS in their last 16 Saturday games. The over is 49-16 in the last 65 SDSU road games.
The Wolfpack are 6-2-1 ATS in their last nine games overall. Nevada is 38-17-3 ATS in its last 58 home games.
Nevada has been dominant at home and I could see SDSU not being ready for the step up in competition after taking care of Savannah State so easily. The spread is a bit steep, but this Wolfpack team is legit and can blow out even very good opponents on the right now. Give the points and take Nevada.
