Hawkeyes put on show versus ISU

Iowa recorded a 98-84 home win Thursday night over rival Iowa State to snap a two-game losing streak. Tyler Cook paced the Hawkeyes (7-2) as he poured in a game-best 26 points on 12-of-16 shooting to go with 11 rebounds and two assists. Isaiah Moss contributed 20 points plus seven rebounds, two assists and two steals. Nicholas Baer registered 14 points, seven boards and three assists off the bench. Connor McCaffery added 12 points, five assists and three rebounds. Iowa shot 35-of-61 from the floor in the winning effort and 9-of-18 from 3-point range.

Panthers ease past Dubuque

Northern Iowa claimed a 75-67 home win last Saturday over Dubuque to improve to 4-5 on the season. A.J. Green led all scorers with 20 to pace the Panthers and he also registered two steals. Luke McDonnell accounted for 14 points and six rebounds. Isaiah Brown added 11 points, six rebounds, two assists and two steals. Northern Iowa held Dubuque to 23-of-62 shooting including 13-of-34 from 3-point distance.

Prediction:

Iowa is a fringe top-25 team and did look good against the Cyclones last game, but will need to show more for me to buy in. Northern Iowa has played a mediocre schedule and didn't really all that good against Dubuque, but it should be prepared and focused against the likes of Iowa. While I think the Hawkeyes will definitely get the win, I like UNI to stay within the number here as they've shown the ability to frustrate opponents with their slow tempo.
