Spartans take down Scarlet Knights

Michigan State picked up a 77-65 home victory Sunday night over Rutgers to improve to 6-3 overall and 1-0 in the Big Ten Conference. The Spartans outscored the Scarlet Knights 44-37 in the second half to pull away. Cassius Winston led MSU with 23 points on 8-of-17 shooting including 2-of-4 from 3-point distance plus 5-of-6 at the free throw line. He also tallied seven assists, three rebounds and three steals. Golden Grizzlies edged by Falcons

Oakland lost by a count of 68-65 last Saturday at Bowling Green to drop to 5-5 overall and 1-4 on the road. The Golden Grizzlies trailed 39-30 at hallftime and were unable to fully recover. Xavier Hill-Mais paced Oakland with 22 points on 8-of-13 shooting including 1-of-4 from 3-point range plus 5-of-7 at the charity stripe. He also pulled down 12 rebounds. Tray Maddox Jr. added 19 points, five boards and two assists.

College Basketball Betting Trends

Michigan State

The Spartans are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 Saturday games. Michigan State is 1-4 ATS in its last five road games.

The Golden Grizzlies are 7-1 ATS in their last eight home games. The home team is 7-0 ATS in the last seven meetings.

The Golden Grizzlies have played their last four games on the road and have only played two top 100 teams, both on the road. With the Spartans being up-and-down this season thus far and Oakland being at home plus highly motivated, I could definitely see this staying close for quite a while. The home team has dominated this series and most of the time that is MSU. Look for the crowd to stay involved early and while there will be a strong MSU contingent in the house, look for the Golden Grizzlies faithfull help the hosts make this a game for at least a half and long enough to stay within the number.
