Prediction:
The underdog seems to rise to the occasion most of the time in this rivalry and I don’t think this will be an exception. The Hawkeyes are arguably the better team, although the two squads are very evenly matched. Iowa is elite in terms of offensive efficiency, but can struggle on the defensive end. The Cyclones are a little more well-rounded, but without the dynamite offense as they only fall into the very good category while being adequate defensively. The last time the two teams were this evenly matched at Iowa State was in 2016 when the Cyclones squeaked out an 83-82 victory. We might have another down to the wire game here. I’m taking the dogs.
