Tar Heels stay unbeaten

North Carolina picked up a 76-67 win Wednesday over Alabama in the Bahamas' Battle 4 Atlantis to improve to 5-0 on the season. The Tar Heels led 37-31 at halftime and continued to control the action after the break. Garrison Brooks paced UNC with 20 points on 7-of-13 shooting plus 6-of-8 at the free throw line. He also brought down seven rebounds. Cole Anthony accounted for 13 points, seven boards, six assists and four steals. Armando Bacot tallied 12 points and 15 caroms. Brandon Robinson added 12 points, six rebounds and two dimes.

Wolverines down Cyclones

Michigan earned an 83-76 victory in the opening game of the Battle 4 Atlantis Wednesday to move to 5-0 on the season. The Wolverines led 41-37 at halftime and padded their lead after the break. Isaiah Livers led U-M with 17 points on 5-of-13 shooting including 3-of-6 from 3-point distance plus 4-of-5 at the free throw line. He also grabbed four rebounds. David DeJulius contributed 14 points and three boards off the bench. Jon Teske tallied 11 points and six caroms. Zavier Simpson racked up 10 points, 13 assists and seven rebounds. Colin Castleton added 10 points and two boards as a reserve.

College Basketball Betting Trends

North Carolina

The Tar Heels are 0-4 ATS in their last four games overall. North Carolina is 0-5 ATS in its last five games following a straight up win.

The Wolverines are 40-15-2 ATS in their last 57 Thursday games. Michigan is 33-15-3 in its last 51 neutral site games.

Michigan is a disciplined team that probably deserves to be ranked and it might be next week after a strong performance here. The spread is tight for good reason and I think it could be even tighter. The Wolverines have a couple top-50 wins over Creighton and Iowa State, with both of those wins being arguably better than UNC's best win which was at home over Notre Dame in its opener. I like U-M in this spot.
