College Basketball Betting Trends
Auburn
The Tigers are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games overall. Auburn is 4-1 ATS in its last five neutral site games.
Virginia
The Cavaliers are 45-20-1 ATS in their last 66 games overall. Virginia is 2-6 ATS in its last eight NCAA Tournament games.
Prediction:
The spread seems about right considering the whole of these two teams' seasons, but the difference in Virginia from the last several seasons to this one is in its offensive efficiency. While Auburn is an elite offensive squad, I see a lot of struggles against a Cavs team ranked fifth nationally in defensive efficiency. But the Cavaliers are second in adjusted offensive efficiency and that is where the Tigers will struggle as they would rather outscore opponents than play solid team defense. Auburn hasn't allowed fewer than 71 points in the NCAA Tournament and if Virginia gets to 70, it's going to be lights out. Going with the favorites to advance here.
