Xavier Musketeers Notes

Jerome Hunter contributed 14 points (6-10 FG, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, two assists and one steal across 27 minutes during Sunday's 84-73 win over Pittsburgh. Hunter continues to do his best job filling in for Zach Freemantle (foot), and the senior forward has been particularly effective in postseason play. He scored a career-high 24 points in Xavier's NCAA Tournament opener against Kennesaw State, and followed that up with another noteworthy effort two days later. Hunter is also averaging 6.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists over his last four games while shooting 59.5 percent from the field and 90.9 percent from the charity swipe. While Freemantle can never truly be replaced, Hunter's efforts have been pivotal in the team's Sweet 16 berth.

Texas Longhorns Notes

Dylan Disu closed Saturday's 71-66 victory over Penn State with 28 points (14-20 FG, 0-1 3Pt), 10 rebounds, one assist and two steals across 31 minutes. Disu excelled in scoring mid-range floaters so much that Texas' interim head coach Rodney Terry had his offensive gameplan settled on that maneuver all game. Penn State may have not missed a lot of shots, but as Texas' tallest starter, Disu took advantage of the rebound opportunities he received. In tournament play, both conference and national, Disu is averaging 17.8 points and 9.0 rebounds across five games.
