Can FSU hold off Davidson at home?
The NIT Tournament gets underway tonight as fourth-seeded Florida State plays host to fifth-seeded Davidson at 7PM ET.
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Florida State is favored at home, as the Seminoles are getting odds of -9 points against Davidson. The over/under total for the game is listed at 167.5 points.
Florida State is 19-13 on the season, 10-4 at home and 12-15-1 against the spread. Davidson is 20-12 overall, 3-9 on the road and 13-17-1 against the spread. These two teams haven’t met since 2002 when Florida State picked up an 82-66 win at home as a 1-point favorite.
Prior to a loss to Virginia Tech in the ACC Tournament, Florida State has won and covered the spread in three straight games, two of which came at home against current NCAA Tournament teams. Davidson has won three of its last four as well and is 7-2 against the spread in its last nine games. However, Davidson is just 5-7 against the spread on the road this season and the Wildcats haven’t been playing the same competition FSU has for the past few months. Look for the Seminoles to handle Davidson at home following a tough ACC schedule.
