Wildcats earn share of Big East crown
Villanova secured a piece of a three-way tie for first-place in the Big East Conference standings as it downed host Georgetown 70-69 Saturday in its regular season finale. The Wildcats (24-7, 13-5) led 39-30 at halftime before holding off a rally by the Hoyas. Saddiq Bey paced Villanova with 18 points on 5-of-9 shooting including 3-of-5 from 3-point distance plus 5-of-7 at the charity stripe. He also pulled down three rebounds. Jermaine Samuels accounted for 13 points, four assists and two boards. Jeremiah Robinson-Earl accounted for 13 points, seven caroms, two assists and two steals. College Basketball Betting Trends
The Blue Demons are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games overall. DePaul is 4-9 ATS in its last 13 Thursday games.
The Wildcats are 2-6 ATS in their last eight games as a favorite. Villanova is 21-7 ATS in its last 28 Thursday games.
The Wildcats did beat up on the Blue Demons by 20 on the road in their last meeting, but earlier in the season it took a 79-75 overtime decision at home for Villanova to prevail. DePaul gained some needed confidence from Tuesday's win and I like its chances to keep it close today against a Villanova squad that sometimes plays down to its competition. Go with the Blue Demons to generate another positive performance.
