Buckeyes rally past Illini

Ohio State earned a 71-63 home victory Thursday night over Illinois to improve to 21-9 overall and 11-8 in the Big Ten. The Buckeyes outscored the Fighting Illini 41-26 in the second half after trailing by seven at the break. Kaleb Wesson paced OSU with 19 points on 7-of-10 shooting including 2-of-4 from 3-point distance plus 3-of-4 at the free throw line. He also accounted for five rebounds and two steals. E.J. Liddell tallied 17 points, 11 boards and two assists off the bench. C.J. Walker added 15 points, six caroms, five assists and two steals as a reserve.

Spartans mount major comeback

Michigan State rallied from 15 down at halftime Tuesday night for a 79-71 win at Penn State. The Spartans trailed 46-31 at the break before outscoring the Nittany Lions 48-25 in the second half. Xavier Tillman Sr. led MSU with 23 points on 10-of-13 shooting plus 3-of-4 at the charity stripe. He also racked up 15 rebounds and two blocked shots. College Basketball Betting Trends

Ohio State

The Buckeyes are 4-0 ATS in their last four games overall. Ohio State is 3-7 ATS in its last 10 Sunday games.

Michigan State

The Spartans are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 Sunday games. The home team is 6-2 ATS in the last eight meetings.

Both teams have been on a nice run with four wins in a row, but in my view the Buckeyes have been the more steady team. Michigan State required a big comeback at Penn State and has had plenty of games this season where it has not seemed quite right. The Spartans seem to be on the right track now, but against a very confident Buckeyes squad this spread is a little too wide for me to stomach. Go with an Ohio State squad looking to quite the home crowd.
