Low-scoring game in Fort Worth?
In what should be a relatively low-scoring game, No. 6 Oklahoma will visit unranked TCU at 1:00PM ET today on ESPN.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the over/under for today's game currently sits at 147.5 points. The Sooners, meanwhile, have gone from a 13-point road favorite down to a 12.5-point fave versus the Horned Frogs, who are just 11-19 on the year.
This is certainly a mismatch but there's not a ton of value in laying 12.5 points on Oklahoma, especially when the Sooners have failed to cover the spread in four of their last five games. They're also just 2-6 ATS in their last eight conference matchups and have failed to cover in 10 of their last 14 games coming off a win.
But where there is value is in the total. The under is a perfect 7-0 in Oklahoma's last seven games and has cashed in four of the team's last five road games. The under has also hit in five of TCU's last six home games, in 11 of the team's last 16 games overall, and is 8-1 in the Horned Frogs' last nine games following an ATS loss.
TCU averages just 67.0 points per game, which ranks 305th in the nation. Lon Kruger's team is obviously proficient on offense, but the Horned Frogs won't contribute enough for the combined score to go over.
