Can Louisville hang with Virginia?
Can No. 4 Virginia maintain its unbeaten home record tonight when it hosts No. 11 Louisville at 8:30PM ET on ESPN?
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Virginia is favored at home tonight, as the Cavaliers are getting odds of -5.5 points against Louisville. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 125.5 points.
Virginia is 23-6 overall, 12-5 in the ACC, 14-0 at home and 14-13 against the spread. Louisville is 23-7 overall, 12-5 in the ACC, 4-6 on the road and 12-13-1 against the spread. Virginia has won two of the three ACC meetings between the two, including a 63-47 win at Louisville on Jan. 30 when it was a 5.5-point underdog.
Who does the public like in this game?
Louisville has been a tough team this season, but most of the Cardinals good games come at home. On the road, Louisville is just 2-8 against the spread, which is worst in the ACC. They have dropped three of their last four road games, failing to cover in each of the losses. Virginia has yet to lose at home this season and the Cavaliers have covered in six of their last seven, including three straight at home. Giving up just 5.5 at home isn’t much for UVA, who should be able to tire out the Cardinals with their physical defense.
