UNLV lost 60-59 at home Saturday night against San Diego State to fall to 15-12 overall and 9-6 in the Mountain West Conference. The Rebels outscored the Aztecs 36-29 in the second half, but ultimately the rally fell short. UNLV shot 18-of-55 from the floor, 7-of-22 from 3-point range and 16-of-23 from the free throw line. Noah Robotham paced the Rebels with 18 points on 6-of-9 shooting including 5-of-6 from 3-point range plus 1-of-4 at the free throw line over 34 minutes. Kris Clayburn contributed 15 points and five boards. Amauri Hardy added 11 points and nine rebounds.
Wolfpack bounce back from loss
Nevada rebounded from a defeat Saturday night with a 74-68 home win over Fresno State to move to 25-2 overall and 12-2 in conference action. Caleb Martin led the Wolfpack with 24 points on 5-of-13 shooting including 3-of-7 from 3-point distance plus 11-of-14 at the free throw line. He also had four assists, two rebounds and two steals. Jordan Caroline tallied 17 points, six boards and two steals. Tre'Shawn Thurman accounted for 14 points, 10 caroms and four assists off the bench. Jazz Johnson added 10 points, two rebounds and two steals. Nevada led 42-39 at halftime and held on from there. The Wolfpack shot 21-of-48 from the floor, 10-of-24 from 3-point range and 22-of-31 on free throws.
College Basketball Betting Trends
The Rebels are 6-18-2 ATS in their last 26 Wednesday games. The Rebels are 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall.
The Wolfpack are 6-2 ATS in their last eight games overall. Nevada is 43-21-3 ATS in its last 67 home games.
Prediction:Nevada hasn't looked great its last two games, but this is a talented and veteran team that can turn it up in a moment's notice. The Wolfpack already have an 87-70 road victory over the Rebels this season and I can't imagine they do any worse at home. It's a big number to cover, but Nevada has won its fair share of games this season in blowout fashion and this looks like the next one.
