Vols fall in OT

Tennessee lost in overtime Saturday at LSU by a count of 82-80 to drop to 24-3 overall and 12-2 in the Southeastern Conference. The Volunteers surrendered the go-ahead free throws with under a second left in the extra session. Tennessee was outscored 40-35 in the second half and 11-9 in overtime. The Vols shot 30-of-67 from the field, 8-of-22 from 3-point distance and 12-of-16 at the free throw line. Admiral Schofield led the way with 27 points on 11-of-22 shooting including 3-of-7 from 3-point range plus 2-of-2 at the charity stripe. He also pulled down nine rebounds. Grant Williams contributed 18 points, nine boards and three assists. Jordan Bone added 13 points, three caroms and three steals.

Rebels edge Bulldogs

Mississippi earned a 72-71 victory over Georgia Saturday to improve to 19-8 overall and 9-5 in the SEC. The Rebels were outscored 42-33 in the second half but were ultimately able to hang on. Breein Tyree paced Ole Miss with 17 points on 7-of-17 shooting including 3-of-6 from 3-point distance. He also recorded four rebounds and two assists. Devontae Shuler had 16 points plus three boards and three assists. Terence Davis added 13 points, four caroms and three dimes. Mississippi shot 28-of-65 from the floor, 13-of-28 on 3-point tries and 4-of-5 at the free throw line.

College Basketball Betting Trends

The Volunteers are 17-7 ATS in their last 24 road games. Tennessee is 0-3-1 ATS in its last four Wednesday games.

The Rebels are 20-8 ATS in their last 28 games overall. Ole Miss is 6-1 ATS in its last seven Wednesday games.

The Volunteers have the second-ranked offensive in terms of adjusted efficiency nationally, while Ole Miss is only 55th in defense. I don't believe the Rebels will be able to get enough stops here, especially considering Tennessee is going to come in with a lot of focus following the difficult loss over the weekend. The Vols have a veteran core that should be able to rise to the occasion tonight.
