Scarlet Knights fall at Badgers

Rutgers lost 79-71 Sunday at Wisconsin to drop to 18-10 overall and 9-8 in the Big Ten Conference. The Scarlet Knights were outscored 39-26 in the second half and were unable to rally. Ron Harper Jr. led Rutgers with 21 points 9-of-16 shooting including 2-of-4 from 3-point distance plus 1-of-2 at the free throw line. He also brought down nine rebounds. Geo Baker tallied 16 points, six assists and five boards. Montez Mathis added 12 points, three steals and two caroms.

Nittany Lions struggle at Hoosiers

Penn State lost 68-60 Sunday afternoon at Indiana to drop to 20-7 overall and 10-6 in conference action. The Nittany Lions were outscored the Hoosiers 37-24 in the first half and were unable to rally all the way back. Lamar Stevens led PSU with 29 points on 11-of-27 shooting plus 7-of-8 at the charity stripe. He also grabbed six rebounds. Myles Dread added 10 points, three boards and two steals.

College Basketball Betting Trends

The underdog is 4-1-1 ATS in the last six meetings. Rutgers is 1-4 ATS in its last five games.

Penn State

The Nittany Lions are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games. Penn State is 4-1 ATS in its last five home games.

This is a revenge game for PSU as it lost 72-61 at Rutgers last month. That was the start of a three-game losing skid by the Nittany Lions, but then they proceeded to roll off eight wins in a row. Penn State will try to avoid another three-game losing streak here and I like its chances to do so. The Scarlet Knights have lost five straight road games plus a neutral court contest. Look for Penn State to clamp down defensively and pull away in the second half as Rutgers is a bit lacking on the offensive end.
