This information is subject to change, however, so be sure to check out our College Basketball Public Betting Page for updated figures on the game.
Jayhawks warming up
Kansas is coming off a 78-53 win over West Virginia at home last weekend. The Jayhawks have won and covered the spread in three straight entering tonight. Kansas is 20-6 overall, 9-4 in the Big 12, 2-6 on the road, 12-14 against the spread and 15-10-1 with the over.
The Jayhawks are averaging 76.9 points per game on offense while shooting 47.2 percent as a team. Defensively, Kansas is giving up 69.8 points per game while limiting opponents to 40.1 percent shooting. The Jayhawks are without Lagerald Vick for personal reasons while Udoka Azubuike is already out with a season-ending injury. Those two combined for over 27 points and 10 rebounds per game. Dedric Lawson is now the team leader with 19.2 points and 10.3 rebounds per contest.
Texas Tech hot as well
The Red Raiders are coming off an 86-61 win over Baylor last weekend for a fourth straight victory and cover. Texas Tech is now 21-5 overall, 9-4 in the Big 12, 14-1 at home, 11-14-1 against the spread and 16-9 with the under.
Texas Tech ranks second in the nation in scoring defense, allowing just 57.2 points per game. They also hold opponents to just 36.1 percent shooting, which ranks tops in the nation. Offensively, Tech is putting up 71.5 points per game while shooting 46.6 percent from the floor. Jarrett Culver is leading the team with 17.7 points and 6.3 rebounds per game while Davide Moretti and Matt Mooney both average about 10.7 points per game.
College Basketball Betting Trends
Kansas
The Jayhawks are 1-4 against the spread in their last five road games and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games following a win.
Texas Tech
Texas Tech has covered the spread in four straight conference games, but just 4-9-1 ATS in their last 14 games against a team with a winning record.
Prediction:
Kansas earned a 79-63 win at home over Texas Tech back on Feb. 2, but I think the losses of two of their top scorers is going to be a real problem tonight on the road against this Texas Tech defense. The Red Raiders give up just 53.3 points per game at home and Kansas is scoring under 70 per game on the road. I look for Tech to play up with a primetime game at home against a short-handed, but still big-named Kansas program.
College Basketball Prediction: Texas Tech -5.5
