Wildcats owning ASU at betting window
No. 12 Arizona is a double-digit favorite against Arizona State tonight. Can the Wildcats pummel the Sun Devils?
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Arizona is heavily favored at home in this rivalry game, as the Wildcats are getting odds of -13 points against ASU. The over/under total is currently listed at 147 points. These two meet tonight in Pac-12 play at 9PM ET on ESPN2.
It’s no real surprise to see Arizona (21-5, 9-4 Pac-12) as a double-digit favorite at home against ASU (14-12, 4-9). Arizona is currently tied for the Pac-12 lead with Oregon. Sine a two-game losing streak to Cal and Oregon, Arizona has rattled off five straight wins. The Wildcats have had plenty of success against the Sun Devils as well, winning and covering the spread in seven of the last 10 in this series. That includes a 94-82 win at ASU back on Jan. 3.
The Wildcats were very efficient on offense in the first meeting, shooting 55 percent from the field and 58 percent from 3-point land. Arizona also got to the line 36 times while ASU had just 19 attempts. All five starters scored in double figures, led by Gabe York and Allonzo Trier, who each put up 20 or more points. Ryan Anderson added a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds. ASU had 8 3-pointers in the loss, but that came on 25 attempts. If ASU gets hot from beyond the arc, they could pose a challenge to Arizona, but shooting well on the road hasn’t been the Sun Devils’ thing. ASU is shooting just 31 percent from 3-point land in road games, compared to 38 percent at home.
