Wildcats roll past Vols

Kentucky rolled to a 77-64 victory Saturday at Tennessee to improve to 18-5 overall and 8-2 in the Southeastern Conference. The Wildcats led 37-30 at halftime and continued to pull away after the break. Immanuel Quickley led Kentucky with 18 points in 29 minutes of action on 5-of-9 shooting including 2-of-3 from 3-point distance plus 6-of-7 at the free throw line. Nick Richards accounted for 15 points and seven rebounds. Tyrese Maxey tallied 15 points, five boards, four assists and two steals. Johnny Juzang contributed 13 points in 24 minutes off the bench. Ashton Hagans added 10 points, four caroms and three assists.

Commodores fall at Bulldogs

Vanderbilt lost 80-70 Saturday at Mississippi State to drop to 9-14 overall and 1-9 in SEC play. The Commodores were outscored 49-35 in the second half after leading by four at the break. Saben Lee paced Vanderbilt with 20 points on 6-of-12 shooting including 1-of-2 from 3-point distance plus 7-of-8 at the charity stripe. He also notched six steals, four assists and two rebounds. Ejike Obinna accounted for 12 points and six boards. Jordan Wright added 11 points and seven caroms off the bench.

College Basketball Betting Trends

The road team is 6-0 ATS in the last six meetings. The favorite is 3-12-1 ATS in the last 16 meetings.

The Commodores are 4-0 ATS in their last four games overall. Vanderbilt is 2-7 ATS in its last nine games as a home underdog.

This is a big spread and the underdog has done well in this series over the last several years. The Wildcats only defeated Vandy 71-62 at home a few weeks ago and I'd rather not lay money on them as double-digit road favorites in what could be a look-ahead spot. Vanderbilt stinks, but has been reasonably competitive lately and played very well for one half the last time it faced Kentucky. I'll take the points here.
