Wildcats fall to Nittany Lions
Northwestern dropped a 59-52 home decision Monday night to Penn State to fall to 12-10 overall and 3-8 in Big Ten play. The Wildcats were outscored 27-22 in the second half of the defeat. Northwestern shot 20-of-53 from the field, 3-of-15 at the free throw line and 16-of-26 at the charity stripe. Dererk Pardon paced the Wildcats with 18 points on 8-of-14 shooting plus 2-of-3 at the free throw line. He added nine rebounds and two steals. Vic Law contributed 10 points, 10 boards and six assists.
Hawkeyes take down Hoosiers
Iowa earned a 77-72 victory Thursday night at Indiana to move to 18-5 overall and 7-5 in conference action. Jordan Bohannon paced the Hawkeyes with 25 points on 7-of-13 shooting including 5-of-8 from 3-point distance plus 6-of-7 at the free throw line. He also dished out six assists. Tyler Cook accounted for 21 points, seven boards, four assists and two steals. Joe Wieskamp added 13 points and two caroms. Iowa led 46-36 at halftime and held off the Hoosiers after the break. The Hawkeyes shot 27-of-60 from the floor, 10-of-25 from 3-point range and 13-of-17 at the free throw line.

Prediction:
The spread is pretty big here, but the Hawkeyes are playing with plenty of confidence and have an elite offense. When guys like Bohannon step up in the scoring department, they can be nearly unbeatable. While Iowa is inconsistent, it seems to be gaining some stability now and I'm going to take my shots on the better team here to cover the spread.
