Gonzaga vs. Loyola Marymount Pick

CBB Picks: Will Gonzaga struggle to cover on the road vs. Loyola Marymount?

Can top-ranked Gonzaga handle covering a large spread when it goes on the road to face Loyola Marymount tonight at 10PM ET?

According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Gonzaga is the clear favorite tonight, as the Bulldogs are getting odds of -17.5 points against Loyola Marymount. The over/under total for the game is listed at 143.5 points. Gonzaga has won 10 straight in this series and covered the spread in four straight. These two met on Jan. 12 in Spokane and the Zags picked up a 93-55 win as a 19-point favorite.

Gonzaga is a perfect 24-0 on the season and 12-0 in the West Coast Conference following a 90-55 win over Santa Clara this weekend. The Bulldogs are 7-2-1 against the spread in their last 10 games and 16-4-1 against the spread on the season. Zaga is putting up 85.4 points per game on offense while allowing just 61.7 on defense. On the road, their offensive average actually improves to 87.7 per game. Nigel Williams-Gross is averaging 15.6 points, 5.7 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game to lead the team, but he is battling an ankle injury. He is still expected to play tonight.

While Loyola Marymount has been respectable at home lately, the competition jumps up to a whole new level against Gonzaga. The West Coast Conference doesn’t offer a lot of top-level competition, but the Bulldogs are certainly in that category. They have won their last 16 games by double figures and I don’t see Loyola Marymount putting up much fight tonight.
