OU struggling to cover off losses
Oklahoma will look to put its loss to Kansas State behind it tonight when hosts Texas at 9:00PM ET tonight on ESPN.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Sooners are 8-point home favorites versus the Longhorns while the over/under currently sits at 147.5 points. Texas enters play with a 16-7 record and is 11-11 against the spread, while OU is 19-3 overall and 10-10 at the betting window.
The Sooners failed to cover as a 4.5-point road favorite on Saturday when they fell to the Wildcats 80-69 in Manhattan. As we noted, Oklahoma has struggled to cover coming off losses, going 1-4 against the spread in its last five games in those situations. The Sooners are also just 2-5 ATS in their last seven home games and 5-13 ATS in their last 18 conference tilts.
The Longhorns have been a different story at the betting window. They're a perfect 5-0 against the spread in their last five Big 12 games and 6-0 against the number in their last six overall. Texas is 4-2 against ranked opponents this season, its first year under coach Shaka Smart.
