According to oddsmakers, the Bulldogs are a 25.5-point favorite on the spread line. The over-under is set at 143 points. As of Thursday morning, 68 percent of public bets are being placed on host Gonzaga. Check out our College Basketball Public Betting Page for the latest information.
Lions fall in OT
Loyola Marymount lost 68-67 in overtime Saturday at home versus Pepperdine to drop to 12-11 overall and 5-4 in the West Coast Conference. The Lions were outscored 35-28 in the second half and 7-6 in the extra session to lead to the defeat. Kameron Edwards paced Loyola Marymount with 27 points on 11-of-17 shooting including 1-of-3 from 3-point distance plus 4-of-8 at the free throw line. He also grabbed five rebounds. Kessler Edwards added 17 points, five boards and two blocked shots.
Bulldogs rally past Dons
Gonzaga secured an 83-79 victory Saturday at San Francisco to move to 23-1 overall and 9-0 in conference action. The Bulldogs outscored the Dons 48-36 at halftime after trailing by eight at the half. Filip Petrusev led Gonzaga with 23 points on 8-of-14 shooting plus 7-of-12 at the charity stripe. He also registered 11 rebounds and two steals. Drew Timme tallied 19 points, four boards, three assists and three blocked shots. Joel Ayayi contributed 12 points and nine caroms. Corey Kispert registered 11 points and three rebounds. Admon Gilder added 11 points and five boards off the bench.
College Basketball Betting Trends
The Lions are 4-10 ATS in their last 14 games overall. Loyola Marymount is 1-4 ATS in its last five road games.
The Bulldogs are 5-2 ATS in their last seven games overall. The favorite is 7-3-1 ATS in the last 11 meetings.
Yes, this spread is massive but the Zags already blasted the Lions 87-62 on the road last month and will be focused a little more heavily after a close call at San Francisco over the weekend. The Bulldogs won their last two home games by 48 and 33 points, respectively, and those two opponents were better than the Loyola Marymount squad coming to town tonight. I like Gonzaga to win huge here.
