FSU heating up
Florida State is coming off a 59-49 win over Georgia Tech at home. The Seminoles have won three straight after going on a 3-game losing streak. Florida State is 16-5 overall, 4-4 in the ACC, 2-3 on the road, 8-12-1 against the spread and 11-8-2 with the under.
The Seminoles are putting up 76.8 points per game on offense this season while shooting just 33 percent from the arc. Defensively, FSU is allowing only 68.6 points per game while holding opponents to just 41.7 percent shooting. Mfiondu Kabengele is leading Florida State with 13.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per game while Terance Mann is adding 11.4 points and 6.6 rebounds per contest.
Cuse playing well
Syracuse is coming off a 65-56 win at Pittsburgh this weekend for its second straight win. The Orange are 8-2 straight up and against the spread over their last 10 games. Syracuse is 16-6 overall, 7-2 in the ACC, 11-3 at home, 13-9 against the spread and 13-9 with the under.
The Orange are one of the stronger defensive teams in the nation, as they are allowing just 63.6 points per game while limiting opponents to 39 percent shooting. Offensively, Syracuse puts up just 71 points per game while shooting 43 percent. Tyus Battle leads the team with 17.5 points per game while Elijah Hughes adds 14.1 points per contest.
College Basketball Betting Trends
The Seminoles are 13-2-1 against the spread in their last 16 Tuesday games, but just 4-12 ATS in their last 16 ACC games.
The Orange are 5-1 against the spread in their last six home games and 5-1 ATS in their last ACC games.
Syracuse is playing quite well right now and the Orange have been very tough at home. They allow just 58 points per game at home and the zone defense creates a lot of problems for teams. FSU has struggled to cover the spread in general this year and should be an issue on the road. The home team has won and covered the spread in five straight in this series as well. I will go with the Orange as the slight favorite.
College Basketball Prediction: Syracuse -2.5
