Ducks cruise past Bruins

Oregon earned a 96-75 home victory Sunday afternoon versus UCLA to improve to 17-4 overall and 6-2 in PAC 12 Conference action. The Ducks led 48-26 at halftime en route to the win. Chris Duarte led Oregon with 24 points on 8-of-14 shooting including 4-of-7 from 3-point distance plus 4-of-4 at the free throw line. He also accounted for six rebounds, six steals, five assists and two blocked shots. Payton Pritchard contributed 19 points, six dimes and five boards. Will Richardson tallied 16 points and two steals. Shakur Juiston added 11 points, five caroms, four steals and three assists.

Austin wins it for Bears

Paris Austin sank two free throws with 3.2 seconds remaining Sunday to propel host California to a 52-50 win over rival Stanford. The Bears outscored the Cardinal 31-27 in the second half to secure the triumph. Austin paced Cal with 15 points on 4-of-10 shooting plus 7-of-8 at the charity stripe. He also registered four assists, three rebounds and two steals. Matt Bradley tallied 14 points and five boards. Kareem South added 13 points in 36 minutes of action.

The Ducks are big road favorites, but Cal has won its last three games at home and the visitors have a loss at Washington State on its resume in the not-so-distant past. The most Oregon has won a road game this season is five points and the Bears showed they have fight and grit with Sunday's narrow victory. I'm taking the points with the hosts in this spot.
