Bulls fall at buzzer

Buffalo allowed a buzzer-beating layup at Northern Illinois Tuesday night in a 77-75 defeat to drop to 17-2 overall and 5-1 in the Mid-American Conference. The Bulls trailed 38-32 at halftime and rallied back before falling short at the end. Buffalo shot 22-of-60 from the floor, 9-of-30 from 3-point distance and 22-of-31 from the free throw line. C.J. Massinburg paced the Bulls with 23 points on 6-of-14 shooting plus 2-of-6 from 3-point range and 9-of-10 at the charity stripe. He also notched seven rebounds and four assists. Jeremy Harris had 15 points, eight boards, two assists and two steals. Nick Perkins tallied 12 points and nine rebounds off the bench. Jeremy Graves added 10 points, two caroms and two blocked shots.

Golden Flashes rally for OT win

Kent State erased a 17-point deficit to record an 87-85 overtime victory at home Tuesday night over Toledo. Jaylin Walker had a huge night for KSU as he poured in 36 points on 11-of-21 shooting including 7-of-14 shooting plus 7-of-8 at the free throw line. He also grabbed five rebounds. Akiean Frederick registered 12 points and seven rebounds off the bench. Anthony Roberts added 10 points, seven boards, two assists and two steals as a reserve. The Golden Flashes trailed 43-36 at halftime before outscoring the visitors 43-36 after the break plus 8-6 in OT. Kent State shot 31-of-68 from the floor, 13-of-34 from 3-point range and 12-of-16 at the free throw line.

College Basketball Betting Trends

Buffalo

The Bulls are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games versus the MAC. Buffalo is 5-2 ATS in its last seven Friday games.

Kent State

The Golden Flashes are 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall. Kent State is 2-5-2 ATS in its last nine Friday games.

Prediction:

Buffalo was stunned at NIU, but look for a strong effort here to cover this spread. The Golden Flashes really struggle on the defensive end, so I don't see the Bulls struggling to find baskets. Buffalo should get enough stops along the way to pull away gradually and win handily. Prior to the loss last game, the Bulls had won their previous six games all by at least nine points.
