Yellow Jackets unable to solve Cavs
Georgia Tech lost by a score of 63-58 at home Saturday night against Virginia to drop to 8-10 overall and 3-5 in the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Yellow Jackets trailed 33-25 at halftime and were unable to recover. Jose Alvarado paced Georgia Tech with 20 points on 8-of-14 shooting including 2-of-7 from 3-point range plus 2-of-2 at the free throw line. He also notched two rebounds, two assists and two steals. James Banks III added 10 points, nine boards, five assists and three steals.
Cardinals stun Blue Devils
Louisville earned a 79-73 victory Saturday night at Duke to move to 15-3 overall and 6-1 in conference action. The Cardinals led 42-32 at halftime and held on from there. David Johnson paced Louisville with 19 points off the bench on 8-of-12 shooting including 1-of-1 from 3-point distance plus 2-of-2 at the charity stripe. He also registered seven assists, four rebounds, three steals and two blocked shots. Dwayne Sutton accounted for 13 points, five boards and two assists. Steven Enoch added 10 points and two caroms.
College Basketball Betting Trends
The Yellow Jackets are 8-1 ATS in their last nine road games. Georgia Tech is 5-2 ATS in its last seven Wednesday games.
The Cardinals are 5-2 ATS in their last seven home games. Louisville is 36-16-2 ATS in its last 54 games versus an opponent with a losing straight up record.
The Yellow Jackets have strangely played better on the road than at home over the last month, but that might end tonight. The Cardinals have a deep roster and instead of a lackluster effort following the win at Duke, I think Louisville builds off it by rolling past an inferior opponent. Georgia Tech is barely in the top 200 in adjusted offensive efficiency and with the baskets not coming consistently, I think it struggles to keep up with the Cardinals tonight.
